Tires and Wheels
The Bolt’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the RZ’s standard 60 series front and 55 series rear tires.
The Bolt has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The RZ doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.
Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires standard on the Bolt can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The RZ doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.
Suspension and Handling
For better maneuverability, the Bolt’s turning circle is 2 feet tighter than the RZ’s (34.8 feet vs. 36.8 feet).
Chassis
The Chevrolet Bolt may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1000 pounds less than the Lexus RZ.
The Bolt is 2 feet, 2 inches shorter than the RZ, making the Bolt easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The Bolt is 5.1 inches narrower than the RZ, making the Bolt easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.
Passenger Space
The Bolt has .2 inches more front headroom and 2.2 inches more front legroom than the RZ.
Ergonomics
The power windows standard on both the Bolt and the RZ have locks to prevent small children from operating them. When the lock on the Bolt is engaged the driver can still operate all of the windows, for instance to close one opened by a child. The RZ prevents the driver from operating the other windows just as it does the other passengers.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Bolt has a standard rear wiper. The RZ doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
