Passive Entry/Passive Start optional on the Transit Connect Wagon (except XL) allows you to unlock the driver’s door, cargo door and start the engine all without removing a key from pocket or purse. This eliminates searching for keys before loading groceries, getting in the vehicle in bad weather or making a hurried start to your trip. The Ram ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer an advanced key system.
The Transit Connect Wagon’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The ProMaster City Wagon’s fixed intermittent wipers only have one fixed delay setting, so the driver will have to manually switch them between slow and intermittent.
Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Transit Connect Wagon to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Transit Connect Wagon has a standard rear wiper. A rear wiper costs extra on the ProMaster City Wagon.
The Transit Connect Wagon’s optional high intensity discharge (HID) headlights provide a whiter, brighter light (up to 3x) using less power than the ProMaster City Wagon’s halogen headlights. HID units last two to six times longer than halogen.
The Transit Connect Wagon has a standard automatic headlight on/off feature. When the ignition is on, the headlights automatically turn on at dusk and off after dawn. When the ignition turns off, the headlights turn off after a delay timed to allow you to securely get to your front door. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer automatic headlights.
While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Transit Connect Wagon detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.
To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Transit Connect Wagon offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer cornering lights.
The Transit Connect Wagon’s optional rear view mirror has an automatic dimming feature. This mirror can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on it, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer the luxury of an automatic dimming rear view mirror.
The Transit Connect Wagon’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
The Transit Connect Wagon’s standard automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set, automatically controlling fan speed, vents and temperature to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.
For greater rear passenger comfort, the Transit Connect Wagon has standard rear a/c vents to keep rear occupants more comfortable. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer rear vents.
To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Transit Connect Wagon XLT/Titanium offers an optional Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
Optional smartphone integration for the Transit Connect Wagon allows the driver and passengers access to select programs on their smartphones so they can stay connected without taking their eyes off the road or their hands from the wheel. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer factory integrated smartphone program access.
The Transit Connect Wagon has a 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
The Transit Connect Wagon Titanium’s optional Enhanced Active Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The ProMaster City Wagon doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
