The Roma has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Vantage doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Roma and the Vantage have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and front and rear parking sensors.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Vantage.

The Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 109 more horsepower (612 vs. 503) and 56 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 505) than the Vantage’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 19 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 542) than the Vantage’s optional 5.2 turbo V12.

On the EPA test cycle the Roma gets better fuel mileage than the Vantage 5.2 turbo V12 (17 city/22 hwy vs. 14 city/22 hwy).

The Roma has 1.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the Vantage (21.1 vs. 19.3 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Roma has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The Vantage doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Roma higher (6 out of 10) than the Aston Martin Vantage (3 to 5). This means the Roma produces up to 23.4 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Vantage every 15,000 miles.

The Roma offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The Vantage doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Roma’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Vantage doesn’t offer launch control.

The Roma’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Vantage’s standard 40 series front tires.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Roma is 1.3 inches wider in the rear than on the Vantage.

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 3.3 feet tighter than the Vantage’s (35.4 feet vs. 38.7 feet).

The Roma has standard seating for 4 passengers; the Vantage can only carry 2.

The Roma has 33 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Vantage (80 vs. 47).

The Roma’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Vantage does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Roma’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Vantage’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Roma detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Vantage doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The Roma’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Vantage has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
