The Roma has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The DBS doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Roma and the DBS have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and front and rear parking sensors.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DBS.

On the EPA test cycle the Roma gets better fuel mileage than the DBS (17 city/22 hwy vs. 14 city/22 hwy).

The Roma has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The DBS doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Roma higher (6 out of 10) than the Aston Martin DBS (3). This means the Roma produces up to 23.4 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the DBS every 15,000 miles.

The Roma offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DBS doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Roma’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The DBS doesn’t offer launch control.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Roma is 1.3 inches wider in the rear than on the DBS.

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 5.3 feet tighter than the DBS’ (35.4 feet vs. 40.7 feet).

The Ferrari Roma may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 600 to 850 pounds less than the Aston Martin DBS.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the Roma a Subcompact car, while the DBS Coupe is rated a Minicompact.

The Roma has 8 cubic feet more passenger volume than the DBS (80 vs. 72).

The Roma has a larger trunk than the DBS Coupe (10.3 vs. 9.5 cubic feet).

The Roma’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The DBS doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

The Roma’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DBS does not have an oil pressure gauge.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Roma detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The DBS doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The Roma’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The DBS has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
