The Roma has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The DB11 doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Roma and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and front and rear parking sensors.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB11.

The Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 84 more horsepower (612 vs. 528) and 48 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 513) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 45 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12.

On the EPA test cycle the Roma gets better fuel mileage than the DB11 V12 (17 city/22 hwy vs. 14 city/22 hwy).

The Roma has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The DB11 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Roma higher (6 out of 10) than the Aston Martin DB11 (3 to 5). This means the Roma produces up to 23.4 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the DB11 every 15,000 miles.

The Roma offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The Roma has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Roma’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front tires.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Roma is 1.3 inches wider in the rear than on the DB11.

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 3 feet tighter than the DB11’s (35.4 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

The Ferrari Roma may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 450 to 650 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB11.

The Roma is 3.7 inches shorter than the DB11, making the Roma easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the Roma a Subcompact car, while the DB11 Coupe is rated a Minicompact.

The Roma has 8 cubic feet more passenger volume than the DB11 (80 vs. 72).

The Roma has a larger trunk than the DB11 (10.3 vs. 9.9 cubic feet).

The Roma’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The DB11 doesn’t offer folding rear seats.

The Roma’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DB11 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Roma’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The DB11’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors available for the Roma detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The DB11 doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The Roma’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The DB11 has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
