Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the F8 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The F8’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The Aventador’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

Both the F8 and the Aventador have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and available rearview cameras.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the F8 for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Lamborghini doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Aventador.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari F8 higher (3 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Aventador (1). This means the F8 produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Aventador every 15,000 miles.

The F8 offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Aventador; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The F8 Tributo handles at 1.06 G’s, while the Aventador pulls only 1.05 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the F8’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the Aventador’s (38.7 feet vs. 41 feet).

The F8 is 10.2 inches shorter than the Aventador Ultimae, making the F8 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces. The F8 is 1 foot, 1.1 inches shorter than the Aventador SVJ.

The design of the Ferrari F8 amounts to more than styling. The F8 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .292 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Aventador (.33). A more efficient exterior helps the F8 go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the F8 get better fuel mileage.

The F8’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The Aventador doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

The F8 Tributo has a much larger trunk than the Aventador (7.1 vs. 5.2 cubic feet).

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the F8 to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lamborghini doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Aventador.

When three different drivers share the F8, the optional memory system makes it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle. The Aventador doesn’t offer a memory system.

The F8’s LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the Aventador’s xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the F8 offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Aventador doesn’t offer cornering lights.

When the F8 with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The Aventador’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

The F8’s optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Aventador has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The F8’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Aventador doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
