Compare the2023 Ferrari F8 VS 2022 Acura NSX

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the F8 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The F8’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The NSX’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

Both the F8 and the NSX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rear parking sensors and available rearview cameras.

The F8 comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The NSX’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the F8 for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Acura doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the NSX.

The F8’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 110 more horsepower (710 vs. 600) and 75 lbs.-ft. more torque (567 vs. 492) than the NSX’s 3.5 turbo V6 hybrid.

The F8 has 7.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the NSX (22.7 vs. 15.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the F8’s brake rotors are larger than those on the NSX:

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F8 has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch front wheels are available on the NSX.

The F8 offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the NSX; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The F8 Tributo handles at 1.06 G’s, while the NSX pulls only 1.00 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The F8 Tributo executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1 seconds quicker than the NSX (22.8 seconds @ .93 average G’s vs. 23.8 seconds @ .87 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the F8’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the NSX’s (38.7 feet vs. 39.7 feet).

The Ferrari F8 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 750 pounds less than the Acura NSX.

The F8’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The NSX doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

The F8 Tributo has a much larger trunk than the NSX (7.1 vs. 4.4 cubic feet).

When three different drivers share the F8, the optional memory system makes it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle. The NSX doesn’t offer a memory system.

The F8’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The NSX does not have an oil pressure gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F8 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The NSX doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the F8 offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The NSX doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The F8’s optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The NSX has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Ferrari F8 comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Acura NSX isn’t available as a convertible.
