Compare the2023 Ferrari F8 VS 2023 Maserati MC20

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the F8 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The F8’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The MC20’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

Both the F8 and the MC20 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rear parking sensors and available rearview cameras.

The F8 comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The MC20’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The F8’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the MC20’s (unlimited vs. 50,000 miles).

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the F8 for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the MC20.

The F8’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 89 more horsepower (710 vs. 621) and 29 lbs.-ft. more torque (567 vs. 538) than the MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the F8’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The MC20 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The F8 has 4.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the MC20 (22.7 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the F8’s brake rotors are larger than those on the MC20:

The design of the Ferrari F8 amounts to more than styling. The F8 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .292 Cd. That is significantly lower than the MC20 (.38 to .39). A more efficient exterior helps the F8 go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the F8 get better fuel mileage.

The F8 Tributo has a much larger trunk than the MC20 Coupe (7.1 vs. 5.3 cubic feet).

The F8’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The MC20 has neither an oil pressure gauge nor a temperature gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F8 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The MC20 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the F8 offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The MC20 doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The F8’s power mirror controls are mounted on the door for easy access. The MC20’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

When the F8 with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The MC20’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.
