Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the F8 for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the R8.

The F8’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 148 more horsepower (710 vs. 562) and 161 lbs.-ft. more torque (567 vs. 406) than the R8 RWD Performance’s standard 5.2 DOHC V10. The F8’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 108 more horsepower (710 vs. 602) and 154 lbs.-ft. more torque (567 vs. 413) than the R8 Quattro/GT’s standard 5.2 DOHC V10.

The F8 has 3.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the R8 Coupe’s standard fuel tank (22.7 vs. 19.3 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The F8 has 1.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the R8 Spyder’s standard fuel tank (22.7 vs. 21.1 gallons).

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari F8 higher (3 out of 10) than the Audi R8 (1). This means the F8 produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the R8 every 15,000 miles.

The F8 offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the R8; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The F8 has a standard driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads. The R8’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the F8 is 1.2 inches wider in the front and 1.8 inches wider in the rear than on the R8.

The Ferrari F8 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 700 pounds less than the Audi R8.

The design of the Ferrari F8 amounts to more than styling. The F8 has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .292 Cd. That is significantly lower than the R8 (.36). A more efficient exterior helps the F8 go faster and keeps the interior quieter. It also helps the F8 get better fuel mileage.

The F8’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The R8 doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

The F8 Tributo has a much larger trunk than the R8 Coupe (7.1 vs. 4 cubic feet).

With its coupe body style and remote trunk release lockout, the F8 offers cargo security. The R8’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

The F8’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The R8 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F8 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The R8 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The R8’s cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The F8’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

The F8’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The R8 doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
