Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the F8 deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The F8’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The DB11’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

Both the F8 and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rear parking sensors and available rearview cameras.

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the F8 for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB11.

The F8’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 182 more horsepower (710 vs. 528) and 54 lbs.-ft. more torque (567 vs. 513) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The F8’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 80 more horsepower (710 vs. 630) and 51 lbs.-ft. more torque (567 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12.

The F8 has 2.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the DB11 (22.7 vs. 20.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The F8 offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.

The F8 has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

For better traction and acceleration, the F8 has larger rear tires than the DB11 (305/30R20 vs. 295/35R20).

The F8’s 245/35R20 front and 305/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front and 35 series rear tires.

The F8 offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the DB11; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Ferrari F8 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 750 to 900 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB11.

The F8 is 5.5 inches shorter than the DB11, making the F8 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The F8’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The DB11 doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

With its coupe body style and remote trunk release lockout, the F8 offers cargo security. The DB11’s non-lockable remote release defeats cargo security.

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the F8. The DB11 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The F8’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The DB11 does not have an oil pressure gauge.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F8 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The DB11 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The F8’s optional rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The DB11 has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
