Brakes and Stopping
In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The 296 has a standard brake assist system to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Aventador doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.
Chassis
The 296 is 12 inches shorter than the Aventador Ultimae, making the 296 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces. The 296 is 1 foot, 2.9 inches shorter than the Aventador SVJ.
The 296 is 5.5 inches narrower than the Aventador, making the 296 easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.
The 296’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The Aventador doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.

Ergonomics
When three different drivers share the 296, the memory seats make it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position. The Aventador doesn’t offer memory seats.
The 296 has a standard heads-up display that projects speed and tachometer readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Aventador doesn’t offer a heads-up display.
The 296’s LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the Aventador’s xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.
To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the 296 has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Aventador doesn’t offer cornering lights.
