The Mazda MX-30 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Mazda’s powertrain warranty covers the MX-30 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Volvo covers the C40 Recharge. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the C40 Recharge ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 2 times as many Mazda dealers as there are Volvo dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the MX-30’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Mazda vehicles are better in initial quality than Volvo vehicles. With 76 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Mazda higher than Volvo.

On the EPA test cycle the MX-30 gets better mileage than the C40 Recharge (98 city/85 hwy vs. 94 city/80 hwy MPGe).

The MX-30 stops much shorter than the C40 Recharge:

The MX-30 has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The C40 Recharge’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

For better maneuverability, the MX-30’s turning circle is 2.6 feet tighter than the C40 Recharge’s (34.8 feet vs. 37.4 feet).

The Mazda MX-30 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1100 pounds less than the Volvo C40 Recharge.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the MX-30 has standard extendable sun visors. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The MX-30 has a 115-volt a/c outlet, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The C40 Recharge doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
