Both the Panamera and CT5-V have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Panamera has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The CT5-V’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

A passive infrared night vision system optional on the Panamera helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard and even aims one of the vehicle’s headlights in the direction of the person or object. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Panamera and the CT5-V have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available crash mitigating brakes, blind spot warning systems and around view monitors.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the Panamera have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the 6.2 supercharged V8 in the CT5-V.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Panamera’s reliability 13 points higher than the CT5-V.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Porsche vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Porsche above average in long-term dependability. With 30 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Cadillac is rated lower.

The Panamera can travel with zero emissions for 17 to 19 miles (dependent on model). The CT5-V can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the Panamera’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Regardless of its engine, the Panamera’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The CT5-V Blackwing doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Panamera E-Hybrid’s standard fuel tank has 3.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the CT5-V (21.1 vs. 17.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Panamera’s standard fuel tank has 6.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the CT5-V (23.7 vs. 17.5 gallons).

The Panamera offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The CT5-V doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The Panamera offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Cadillac doesn’t offer an active suspension on the CT5-V.

The Panamera has a standard automatic load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Panamera’s wheelbase is .1 inches longer than on the CT5-V (116.1 inches vs. 116 inches). The Panamera Executive’s wheelbase is 6 inches longer than on the CT5-V (122 inches vs. 116 inches).

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Panamera is 2.3 inches wider in the front and 1.6 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the CT5-V.

The Panamera GTS handles at 1.05 G’s, while the CT5-V pulls only .96 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Panamera GTS executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.2 seconds quicker than the CT5-V (23.7 seconds @ .86 average G’s vs. 24.9 seconds @ .76 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Panamera’s turning circle is 5.2 feet tighter than the CT5-V Blackwing’s (37.4 feet vs. 42.6 feet).

The front grille of the Panamera uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The CT5-V doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Panamera offers available computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The CT5-V doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

Because it has more passenger and cargo room, the EPA rates the Panamera Sedan a Large car, while the CT5-V is rated a Mid-size.

The Panamera Sport Turismo has 9 cubic feet more passenger volume than the CT5-V (108 vs. 99).

The Panamera has 1.4 inches more front shoulder room and 1.4 inches more rear headroom than the CT5-V.

The Panamera Sport Turismo has a much larger trunk with its rear seat up than the CT5-V (18.3 vs. 11.9 cubic feet).

A control in the cargo area automatically lowers the Panamera’s rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The CT5-V doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the Panamera has a standard power liftgate, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button or just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, completely leaving your hands free. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a power trunk.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the CT5-V, the Panamera offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Panamera has a standard locking fuel and charge port door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. A locking fuel door is only offered on the CT5-V Blackwing.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Panamera offers an optional rear wiper. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The CT5-V’s optional cornering lamps activate a lamp on the front corner when the turn signal is activated. The Panamera’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. This lights a significant distance into corners at any speed.

A power rear sunshade is optional in the Panamera (except Sport Turismo) and power rear side window sunshades are optional in the Panamera to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a rear or rear side window sunshades.

The Panamera has standard heated front seats. Heated front seats cost extra on the CT5-V. The Panamera also offers optional heated rear seats to keep those passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated rear seats aren’t available in the CT5-V.

Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Panamera’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The CT5-V doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

Both the Panamera and the CT5-V offer optional massaging front seats. The Panamera also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the CT5-V.

The Panamera Sport Turismo offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The CT5-V doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
