Fuel Economy and Range
On the EPA test cycle the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid running on electricity gets better mileage than the A6 Allroad (49 city/51 hwy MPGe vs. 21 city/30 hwy).
The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid can travel with zero emissions for 19 miles. The A6 Allroad can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.
An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Panamera Turbo/GTS’ fuel efficiency. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.
The Panamera E-Hybrid’s standard fuel tank has 1.8 gallons more fuel capacity than the A6 Allroad (21.1 vs. 19.3 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Panamera’s standard fuel tank has 4.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the A6 Allroad (23.7 vs. 19.3 gallons).
Transmission
An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Porsche Panamera, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the A6 Allroad.
Brakes and Stopping
For better stopping power the Panamera Turbo S’ brake rotors are larger than those on the A6 Allroad:

The Panamera offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.
The Panamera stops much shorter than the A6 Allroad:

Tires and Wheels
For better traction, the Panamera has larger standard tires than the A6 Allroad (F:265/45R19 & R:295/40R19 vs. 245/45R20). The Panamera Turbo S/Turbo S E-Hybrid’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the A6 Allroad (F:275/35R21 & R:325/30R21 vs. 245/45R20).
The Panamera’s standard 295/40R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the A6 Allroad’s standard 45 series tires. The Panamera’s optional 275/35R21 front and 315/30R21 rear tires have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile than the A6 Allroad’s 45 series tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Panamera offers optional 21-inch wheels. The A6 Allroad’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.
Suspension and Handling
The Panamera offers active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.
The Panamera offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Audi doesn’t offer an active suspension on the A6 Allroad.
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Panamera’s wheelbase is .9 inches longer than on the A6 Allroad (116.1 inches vs. 115.2 inches). The Panamera Executive’s wheelbase is 6.8 inches longer than on the A6 Allroad (122 inches vs. 115.2 inches).

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo handles at .99 G’s, while the A6 Allroad Prestige pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
The Panamera 4S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3 seconds quicker than the A6 Allroad Prestige (23.5 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 26.5 seconds @ .68 average G’s).
For better maneuverability, the Panamera w/Rear Axle Steering’s turning circle is 2.6 feet tighter than the A6 Allroad’s (37.4 feet vs. 40 feet).
Chassis
The Porsche Panamera may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 250 pounds less than the Audi A6 Allroad.
The front grille of the Panamera uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer active grille shutters.
The Panamera offers available computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.
Passenger Space
The Panamera Sport Turismo has 7 cubic feet more passenger volume than the A6 Allroad (108 vs. 101).
The Panamera has .6 inches more front legroom and .3 inches more front shoulder room than the A6 Allroad.

Ergonomics
The Panamera’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The A6 Allroad has neither an oil pressure gauge nor a temperature gauge.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Panamera offers an optional rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the A6 Allroad only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.
To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Panamera has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Panamera also offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.
A power rear sunshade is optional in the Panamera (except Sport Turismo) and power rear side window sunshades are optional in the Panamera to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer a rear sunshade.
Optional air conditioned front and rear seats keep the Panamera’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.
Both the Panamera and the A6 Allroad offer available massaging front seats. The Panamera also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the A6 Allroad.
The Panamera Sport Turismo offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet in the cargo area, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
Model Availability
The Porsche Panamera comes in four door hatchback and station wagon bodystyles; the Audi A6 Allroad isn’t available as a four door.
The Panamera is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The A6 Allroad doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
Economic Advantages
The Panamera will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the Panamera will retain 45.4% to 94.99% of its original price after five years, while the A6 Allroad only retains 42.05% to 42.6%.
