The Metris Cargo’s front power windows open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The Express Cargo’s power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully. Only its driver’s window opens automatically.
If the front windows are left open on the Metris Cargo the driver can close them from a distance using the remote (remote must be aimed at door sensor). On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the Express Cargo can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.
The Metris Cargo’s standard sliding doors can be opened with less than three inches side clearance. The Express Cargo’s standard rear double doors are clumsy and make loading in tight spots difficult.
The Metris Cargo has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.
The Metris Cargo’s optional wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically according to the amount of rainfall on the windshield. The Express Cargo’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.
Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Metris Cargo to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Metris Cargo offers an optional rear wiper. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
The Metris Cargo offers optional heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the Express Cargo.
The Metris Cargo’s optional dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
The Metris Cargo’s standard automatic temperature control maintains the temperature you set to maintain a consistent, comfortable environment. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer automatic air conditioning.
A built-in pollen filter removes pollen, exhaust fumes and other pollutants from the Metris Cargo’s passenger compartment. This helps prevent lung and/or sinus irritation which can trigger allergies or asthma. The Express Cargo’s air conditioner doesn’t offer a filtration system.
To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Metris Cargo offers an optional Active Distance Assist Distronic, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
Bluetooth wireless connectivity is standard on the Metris Cargo, connecting the driver and passenger’s cell phones to the vehicle systems. This allows them to use the vehicle’s stereo and hand controls to place calls safely and easily. Bluetooth costs extra on the Express Cargo.
The Metris Cargo’s optional Active Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Express Cargo doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
