Compare the2023 Nissan GT-RVS 2023 Lamborghini Huracán

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the GT-R. But it costs extra on the Huracán.

The GT-R has standard NissanConnect Services, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Huracán doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the GT-R and the Huracán have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Nissan GT-R weighs 467 to 983 pounds more than the Lamborghini Huracán. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

There are almost 31 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the GT-R’s warranty.

The Huracán’s redline is at 8500 to 8700 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The GT-R has a 7100 RPM redline.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Nissan GT-R higher (3 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Huracán (1). This means the GT-R produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Huracán every 15,000 miles.

For better stopping power the GT-R’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Huracán:

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The GT-R has a standard brake assist system to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The Huracán doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

The GT-R stops shorter than the Huracán:

For better traction, the GT-R has larger front tires than the Huracán (F:255/40R20 & R:285/35R20 vs. F:235/40R19 & R:285/40R19). The GT-R’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Huracán (255/40R20 vs. 245/30R20).

The GT-R’s 285/35R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Huracán Sterrato’s standard 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the GT-R has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Huracán.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the GT-R can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. Run-flat tires aren’t available on some tire packages on the Huracán.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the GT-R’s wheelbase is 6.3 inches longer than on the Huracán Technica Coupe (109.4 inches vs. 103.1 inches).

The GT-R’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (54.7% to 45.3%) than the Huracán’s (43% to 57%). This gives the GT-R more stable handling and braking.

For better maneuverability, the GT-R’s turning circle is 1.1 feet tighter than the Huracán’s (36.6 feet vs. 37.7 feet). The GT-R NISMO’s turning circle is .3 feet tighter than the Huracán’s (37.4 feet vs. 37.7 feet).

The GT-R uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Huracán doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The GT-R has standard seating for 4 passengers; the Huracán can only carry 2.

The GT-R has 33 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Huracán (79 vs. 46).

The GT-R has a much larger trunk than the Huracán Coupe (8.8 vs. 3.5 cubic feet).

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the GT-R to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for oil changes, tire rotation and transmission fluid replacement based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lamborghini doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Huracán.

The GT-R’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Lamborghini does not offer a locking feature on the Huracán’s standard power windows.

The GT-R’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Huracán’s power windows’ switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The GT-R’s speed-sensitive wipers speed up when the vehicle does, so that the driver doesn’t have to continually adjust the speed of the wipers. The Huracán’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

The GT-R’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Huracán’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the GT-R has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The Huracán doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

Road and Track performed a comparison test in its December 2019 issue and they ranked the Nissan GT-R NISMO seven places higher than the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Coupe.
