For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Lamborghini Urus are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The BMW X6 doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

An active infrared night vision system optional on the Urus helps the driver to more easily detect people, animals or other objects in front of the vehicle at night. Using an infrared camera and near-infrared lights to detect heat, the system then displays the image on a monitor in the dashboard. The X6 doesn’t offer a night vision system.

Both the Urus and the X6 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, rearview cameras, available lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 322 more horsepower (657 vs. 335) and 296 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 331) than the X6’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder hybrid. The Urus’ 4.0 turbo V8 produces 134 more horsepower (657 vs. 523) and 74 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 553) than the X6 M50i’s standard 4.4 turbo V8.

For better stopping power the Urus’ brake rotors are larger than those on the X6:

The Urus has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The X6 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The Urus stops much shorter than the X6:

For better traction, the Urus has larger standard tires than the X6 (F:285/45R21 & R:315/40R21 vs. 275/45R20). The Urus’ optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the X6 (F:285/35R23 & R:325/30R23 vs. F:275/40R21 & R:315/35R21).

The Urus’ standard 315/40R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the X6’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Urus has standard 21-inch wheels. Smaller 20-inch wheels are standard on the X6. The Urus’ optional 23-inch wheels are larger than the 22-inch wheels optional on the X6.

The front and rear suspension of the Urus uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the X6, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Urus S’ wheelbase is 1.1 inches longer than on the X6 (118.2 inches vs. 117.1 inches).

The Urus handles at 1.01 G’s, while the X6 xDrive40i pulls only .88 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Urus executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.5 seconds quicker than the X6 xDrive40i (23.5 seconds @ .87 average G’s vs. 26 seconds @ .71 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Urus’ turning circle is 2.6 feet tighter than the X6’s (38.7 feet vs. 41.3 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Urus has a greater minimum ground clearance than the X6 xDrive40i (8.4 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the Urus to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Urus’ minimum ground clearance is .1 inch higher than on the X6 Air Suspension (9.8 vs. 9.7 inches).

The Urus has 1.6 inches more front headroom, 1.2 inches more front legroom, .5 inches more rear headroom and 4.3 inches more rear legroom than the X6.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Urus’ available rear seats recline. The X6’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Urus’ standard towing capacity is much higher than the X6’s (7716 vs. 5952 pounds).

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Urus offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The X6 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Urus’ optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The X6’s automatic parking system does not offer parking by remote control.
