The Lamborghini Huracán has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The 911 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the Huracán and the 911 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available rear parking sensors.

In a Road and Track race course test, the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Coupe was clocked 3.08 seconds faster than the Porsche 911 S Coupe (80 sec. vs. 83.08 sec.).

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Huracán’s fuel efficiency. The 911 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Huracán has 4.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the 911’s standard fuel tank (21.1 vs. 16.9 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Huracán has a standard cap-less fueling system. The fuel filler is automatically opened when the fuel nozzle is inserted and automatically closed when it’s removed. This eliminates the need to unscrew and replace the cap and it reduces fuel evaporation, which causes pollution. The 911 doesn’t offer a cap-less fueling system.

The Huracán Technica/STO’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 911’s optional 35 series front tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Huracán can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The 911 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Huracán Technica Coupe’s wheelbase is 6.6 inches longer than on the 911 (103.1 inches vs. 96.5 inches).

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the Huracán is 3.5 inches wider in the front and 2.6 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the 911.

The Huracán’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (43% to 57%) than the 911’s (39.5% to 60.5%). This gives the Huracán more stable handling and braking.

The Huracán Coupe AWD handles at 1.14 G’s, while the 911 Carrera 4 GTS pulls only 1.03 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The Huracán Evo Coupe executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.1 seconds quicker than the 911 S Coupe (22.2 seconds @ 1 average G’s vs. 23.3 seconds @ .86 average G’s).

The Huracán offers an optional under hood light to help in making nighttime maintenance checks, adding fluids, etc. The 911 doesn’t offer an under hood light.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Huracán has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The 911 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

Motor Trend performed a comparison test in its March 2021 issue and they ranked the Lamborghini Huracán Evo Coupe first. They ranked the Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe third.

The Huracán was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2015. The 911 has never been an “All Star.”
