Compare the2023 Lamborghini HuracánVS 2023 Maserati MC20

The Lamborghini Huracán has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The MC20 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Huracán offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The MC20 doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

Both the Huracán and the MC20 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available rear parking sensors.

The Huracán Evo’s optional 5.2 DOHC V10 produces 9 more horsepower (630 vs. 621) than the MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6. The Huracán STO’s standard 5.2 DOHC V10 produces 10 more horsepower (631 vs. 621) than the MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6.

As tested in Car and Driver the Huracán Evo is faster than the Maserati MC20:

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Huracán’s fuel efficiency. The MC20 doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Huracán’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The MC20 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

The Huracán has 2.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the MC20 (21.1 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

All wheel drive, available in the Huracán, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Maserati MC20 is not available with all wheel drive.

The Huracán stops much shorter than the MC20:

The Huracán Technica/STO’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 30 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the MC20’s 35 series front tires.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Huracán can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The MC20 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The Huracán Coupe AWD handles at 1.14 G’s, while the MC20 Coupe pulls only 1.08 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Huracán’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the MC20’s (37.7 feet vs. 38.7 feet).

The Lamborghini Huracán may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 200 to 350 pounds less than the Maserati MC20.

The Huracán Technica Coupe is 5.9 inches shorter than the MC20, making the Huracán easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Huracán’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The MC20 has neither an oil pressure gauge nor a temperature gauge.

The Huracán’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The MC20’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Huracán has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The MC20 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Huracán’s power mirror controls are mounted on the door for easy access. The MC20’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

The Huracán was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2015. The MC20 has never been an “All Star.”
