For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Rolls-Royce Ghost have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Genesis G90 doesn’t offer pretensioners for the rear seat belts.

Both the Ghost and G90 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Ghost has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The G90’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Ghost has standard PostCrash, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The G90 doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Ghost. But it costs extra on the G90.

Both the Ghost and the G90 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost weighs 723 to 998 pounds more than the Genesis G90. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The Ghost comes with a full 4-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The G90’s 60,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

Rolls-Royce pays for scheduled maintenance on the Ghost for 1 year and -36,000 miles longer than Genesis pays for maintenance for the G90 (4/unlimited vs. 3/36,000).

The Ghost’s 6.6 turbo V12 produces 198 more horsepower (563 vs. 365) and 251 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 376) than the G90 3.3T’s standard 3.3 turbo V6. The Ghost’s 6.6 turbo V12 produces 143 more horsepower (563 vs. 420) and 244 lbs.-ft. more torque (627 vs. 383) than the G90 5.0’s standard 5.0 DOHC V8.

For better traction, the Ghost has larger tires than the G90 (F:255/40R21 & R:285/35R21 vs. F:245/45R19 & R:275/40R19).

The Ghost’s 255/40R21 front and 285/35R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the G90’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Ghost has standard 21-inch wheels. Only 19-inch wheels are available on the G90.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the Ghost can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The G90 doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

The Ghost has active sway bars, which help keep it flat and controlled during cornering, but disconnect at lower speeds to smooth the ride and offer greater off-road suspension articulation. This helps keep the tires glued to the road on-road and off. The G90 doesn’t offer an active sway bar system.

The front and rear suspension of the Ghost uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the G90, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Ghost offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Genesis doesn’t offer an active suspension on the G90.

The Ghost has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Ghost’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The G90 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Ghost’s wheelbase is 5.3 inches longer than on the G90 (129.7 inches vs. 124.4 inches). The Ghost Extended’s wheelbase is 11.6 inches longer than on the G90 (136 inches vs. 124.4 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Ghost is 1.3 inches wider in the front and 2.4 inches wider in the rear than on the G90.

The Ghost handles at .90 G’s, while the G90 3.3T AWD pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Ghost executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.6 seconds quicker than the G90 3.3T AWD (25.3 seconds @ .75 average G’s vs. 26.9 seconds @ .67 average G’s).

The Ghost has 2.9 inches more rear headroom and 4.1 inches more rear legroom than the G90.

The Ghost has a much larger trunk than the G90 (17.9 vs. 15.7 cubic feet).

If the windows are left open on the Ghost the driver can close them all at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the G90 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Ghost to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The G90 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Ghost has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The G90 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Ghost has standard massaging front and optional massaging rear seats. Massaging seats aren’t available in the G90.

The Ghost’s Parking Assistant can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The G90 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
