The Range Rover’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Range Rover and the RS Q8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Land Rover vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. With 46 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Land Rover higher than Audi.

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover running its gasoline engine gets better mileage than the RS Q8:

The Range Rover P440e can travel with zero emissions for 48 miles. The RS Q8 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

The Range Rover’s standard fuel tank has 1.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the RS Q8 (23.8 vs. 22.5 gallons).

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Land Rover Range Rover higher (5 to 7 out of 10) than the Audi RS Q8 (3). This means the Range Rover produces up to 24.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the RS Q8 every 15,000 miles.

The Range Rover SWB has a standard space-saver spare (not available on 7-Passenger) so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the RS Q8; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Range Rover’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Range Rover SWB’s wheelbase is .1 inches longer than on the RS Q8 (118 inches vs. 117.9 inches). The Range Rover LWB’s wheelbase is 8 inches longer than on the RS Q8 (125.9 inches vs. 117.9 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Range Rover SWB’s turning circle is 7.6 feet tighter than the RS Q8’s (35.9 feet vs. 43.5 feet). The Range Rover LWB’s turning circle is 5.6 feet tighter than the RS Q8’s (37.9 feet vs. 43.5 feet).

The Land Rover Range Rover may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 250 pounds less than the Audi RS Q8.

The Range Rover uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Range Rover LWB offers optional seating for 7 passengers; the RS Q8 can only carry 5.

Flexibility is maximized at the game, campground or a drive-in theatre in the Range Rover when its optional tailgating rear seats are deployed, allowing people to sit facing out of the tailgate. (Do not use while vehicle is in motion.) The RS Q8 doesn’t offer tailgating seats.

Pressing a switch automatically lowers or raises the Range Rover’s second and third row seats, to make changing between cargo and passengers easier. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer automatic folding second row seats.

The Range Rover’s rear cargo window opens separately from the rest of the tailgate door to allow quicker loading of small packages. The RS Q8’s rear cargo window doesn’t open.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) on the Range Rover uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the RS Q8, the Range Rover has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Range Rover has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the RS Q8 only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

To better shield the driver and front passenger’s vision, the Range Rover has standard dual-element sun visors that can block glare from two directions simultaneously. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer secondary sun visors.

Optional air conditioned front and second row seats keep the Range Rover’s passengers comfortable and take the sting out of hot leather in summer. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats in the rear.

Both the Range Rover and the RS Q8 offer optional massaging front seats. The Range Rover also offers optional massaging second row seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the RS Q8.

The Range Rover offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.
