The Artura’s optional lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. The MC20 doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.
Both the Artura and the MC20 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and available around view monitors.
The Artura comes with a full 5-year/45000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The MC20’s 4-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.
The Artura’s corrosion warranty is 6 years and unlimited miles longer than the MC20’s (10/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).
McLaren pays for scheduled maintenance on the Artura for 3 years and 27000 miles. McLaren will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance (up to 3 oil changes). Maserati doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the MC20.
The Artura’s 3.0 turbo V6 hybrid produces 50 more horsepower (671 vs. 621) than the MC20’s 3.0 turbo V6.
On the EPA test cycle the Artura running on electricity gets better mileage than the MC20 (37 city/41 hwy MPGe vs. 15 city/25 hwy).
The Artura can travel with zero emissions for 11 miles. The MC20 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.
Regenerative brakes improve the Artura’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The MC20 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.
In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Artura’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The MC20 doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.
In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the McLaren Artura higher (6 out of 10) than the Maserati MC20 (5). This means the Artura produces up to 6.9 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the MC20 every 15,000 miles.

The Artura has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The MC20 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.
The Artura’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (42% to 58%) than the MC20’s (40% to 60%). This gives the Artura more stable handling and braking.
The Artura is 5.1 inches shorter than the MC20, making the Artura easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The Artura has a larger trunk than the MC20 Coupe (5.7 vs. 5.3 cubic feet).
The Artura’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The MC20’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.
To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Artura offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The MC20 doesn’t offer cornering lights.
When the Artura with available tilt-down mirrors is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The MC20’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.
To keep a safe, consistent following distance, the Artura offers an optional Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, which alters the speed of the vehicle without driver intervention. This allows the driver to use cruise control more safely without constantly having to disengage it when approaching slower traffic. The MC20 doesn’t offer an adaptive cruise control.
