Compare the2023 BMW M2VS 2023 Acura Integra

The M2 has standard Post-Crash Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Integra doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Both the M2 and the Integra have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The BMW M2 weighs 664 to 794 pounds more than the Acura Integra. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts. Crosswinds also affect lighter cars more.

The M2’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the Integra’s (12 vs. 5 years).

BMW pays for scheduled maintenance on the M2 for 1 year and 12000 miles longer than Acura pays for maintenance for the Integra (3/36,000 vs. 2/24,000).

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that BMW vehicles are more reliable than Acura vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks BMW 16 places higher in reliability than Acura.

The M2’s 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder produces 253 more horsepower (453 vs. 200) and 214 lbs.-ft. more torque (406 vs. 192) than the Integra’s 1.5 turbo 4-cylinder.

Regenerative brakes improve the M2’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Integra doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The M2 has 1.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Integra (13.7 vs. 12.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The M2’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Integra doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the M2’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Integra:

The M2’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs on the Integra are solid, not vented.

For better traction, the M2 has larger tires than the Integra (F:275/35R19 & R:285/30R20 vs. 215/50R17). The M2’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Integra (F:275/35R19 & R:285/30R20 vs. 235/40R18).

The M2’s 275/35R19 front and 285/30R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Integra’s standard 50 series tires. The M2’s tires are lower profile than the Integra A-Spec’s 40 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the M2 has standard 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels. Smaller 17-inch wheels are standard on the Integra. The Integra’s largest wheels are only 18-inches.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the M2 is 3.2 inches wider in the front and 1.6 inches wider in the rear than on the Integra.

The M2 is 5.5 inches shorter than the Integra, making the M2 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

With its coupe body style, valet key, locking rear seatbacks and remote trunk release lockout, the M2 offers cargo security. The Integra’s hatchback body style and non-lockable folding seat defeat cargo security.

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the M2. The Integra doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The M2 uses gas struts to support the hood for easier service access. The Integra uses a prop rod to support its heavy hood. It takes two hands to open the hood and set the prop rod, the prop rod gets in the way during maintenance and service, and the prop rod could be knocked out, causing the heavy hood to fall on the person maintaining or servicing the car.

The engine in the M2 is mounted longitudinally (North-South), instead of sideways, as in the Integra. This makes it easier to service and maintain, because the accessory belts are in front.

If the windows are left open on the M2 the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Integra can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The M2’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Integra’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the M2 offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Integra doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The M2’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Integra has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

On extremely cold winter days, the M2’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The Integra doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The M2 has a standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. Dual zone air conditioning is only available on the Integra A-Spec with Technology Package.

Both the M2 and the Integra offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the M2 has standard rear air conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The Integra doesn’t offer rear air conditioning vents, only heat vents.

With standard voice command, the M2 offers the driver hands free control of the radio, climate controls and the navigation computer by simply speaking. The Integra doesn’t offer a voice control system.

The M2’s optional Parking Assistant can parallel park by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Integra doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
