The Vantage has a standard Birds-eye Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The 718 Cayman only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The Vantage has a standard blind spot warning system which uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. A system to reveal vehicles in the 718 Cayman’s blind spot costs extra.

Both the Vantage and the 718 Cayman have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and front and rear parking sensors.

The Vantage comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The 718 Cayman’s 50,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.

The Vantage has 5.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the 718 Cayman’s standard fuel tank (19.3 vs. 14.2 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups. The Vantage has 2.4 gallons more fuel capacity than the 718 Cayman’s optional fuel tank (19.3 vs. 16.9 gallons).

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Aston Martin Vantage higher (3 to 5 out of 10) than the Porsche 718 Cayman (1). This means the Vantage produces up to 39 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the 718 Cayman every 15,000 miles.

The Aston Martin Vantage comes standard with an automatic transmission, for driver comfort, especially in the city. Automatic costs extra on the 718 Cayman.

An eight-speed automatic is standard on the Aston Martin Vantage, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the 718 Cayman.

For better traction, the Vantage has larger tires than the 718 Cayman (F:255/40R20 & R:295/35R20 vs. F:235/45R18 & R:265/45R18). The Vantage’s front tires are larger than the largest tires available on the 718 Cayman (F:255/40R20 & R:295/35R20 vs. F:245/35R20 & R:295/30R20).

The Vantage’s standard 255/40R20 front and 295/35R20 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 718 Cayman’s standard 45 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Vantage has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the 718 Cayman. The Vantage F1/V12’s 21-inch wheels are larger than the 20-inch wheels optional on the 718 Cayman.

The Vantage has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the 718 Cayman; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Vantage has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The 718 Cayman doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vantage’s wheelbase is 9.1 inches longer than on the 718 Cayman (106.5 inches vs. 97.4 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Vantage is 5.5 inches wider in the front and 4.3 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the 718 Cayman.

The Vantage’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the 718 Cayman’s (44.7% to 55.3%). This gives the Vantage more stable handling and braking.

As tested by Car and Driver, the interior of the Vantage Coupe is quieter than the 718 Cayman GT4 RS:

The Vantage has .1 inches more front legroom and 1.7 inches more front shoulder room than the 718 Cayman.

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the 718 Cayman, the Vantage has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Vantage’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the 718 Cayman.

If the windows are left open on the Vantage the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the 718 Cayman can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Vantage to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The 718 Cayman doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

The Vantage’s LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the 718 Cayman’s standard xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.

The Vantage’s Auto Parking can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The 718 Cayman doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
