The Vantage has standard head airbag curtains which act as a forgiving barrier between the driver and outboard passenger's upper bodies and the window and pillars. Combined with high-strength steel door beams and lower side airbags this system increases head protection in broadside collisions. The 296 GTB doesn't offer side airbag protection for the head.

The Vantage has a standard Birds-eye Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The 296 GTB only offers a rear monitor and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the front or sides.

Both the Vantage and the 296 GTB have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rear parking sensors.

The Vantage’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the 296 GTB’s (10 vs. 3 years).

The Vantage has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the 296 GTB; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The Vantage has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The 296 GTB doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Vantage’s wheelbase is 4.1 inches longer than on the 296 GTB (106.5 inches vs. 102.4 inches).

The Vantage’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (50% to 50%) than the 296 GTB’s (40.5% to 59.5%). This gives the Vantage more stable handling and braking.

The Vantage’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The 296 GTB’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.
