The Aston Martin DB11 has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags helps prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The F8 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The DB11 has a standard Birds-eye Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The F8 only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

The DB11’s blind spot warning system uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them. The F8 doesn’t offer a system to reveal objects in the driver’s blind spots.

Both the DB11 and the F8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rear parking sensors.

The Aston Martin DB11 weighs 683 to 959 pounds more than the Ferrari F8. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The DB11 has a standard Hydraulic Brake Assist to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The DB11 has a much larger trunk than the F8 Tributo (9.9 vs. 7.1 cubic feet).

To make loading groceries and cargo easier when your hands are full, the DB11’s trunk can be opened just by kicking your foot under the back bumper, leaving your hands completely free. The DB11’s entire steering wheel hub sounds the horn, facilitating hitting the horn in an emergency. The F8 has two small spoke buttons. These buttons can be hard to find and reach in an emergency.

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the F8, the DB11 has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The DB11’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. The F8 doesn’t offer an easy entry system.

The DB11’s front power windows open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The F8’s front passenger window doesn’t close automatically.

The DB11’s standard power window controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The F8’s available power window controls are spread out on the center console where they can’t be seen without the driver completely removing his eyes from the road.

If the windows are left open on the DB11 the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the F8 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Keyless Entry and Go standard on the DB11 allows you to unlock the driver’s door, trunk and start the engine all without removing a key from pocket or purse. This eliminates searching for keys before loading groceries, getting in the vehicle in bad weather or making a hurried start to your trip. The Ferrari F8’s Keyless Entry and Ignition doesn’t unlock the trunk.

The DB11 has standard heated front seats, which keep the driver and front passenger extremely comfortable in the winter. Heated seats aren’t available in the F8.

Optional air-conditioned seats in the DB11 keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The F8 doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

On extremely cold winter days, the DB11’s optional heated steering wheel provides comfort, allowing the driver to steer safely and comfortably before the car heater warms up. The F8 doesn’t offer a heated steering wheel.

The DB11’s standard GPS navigation system has a real-time traffic update feature that plots alternative routes to automatically bypass traffic problems. (Service not available in all areas.) The F8’s navigation system doesn’t offer real-time traffic updates.

The DB11’s Auto Parking can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The F8 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
