Both the Range Rover Evoque and RX have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Range Rover Evoque has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The RX’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Range Rover Evoque. But it costs extra on the RX.

The Range Rover Evoque’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The RX doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover Evoque’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The RX doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the RX.

The Range Rover Evoque has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The RX base model’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover Evoque has a greater minimum ground clearance than the RX 350 (8.3 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the Range Rover Evoque to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Range Rover Evoque’s minimum ground clearance is .1 inch higher than on the RX 350h (8.3 vs. 8.2 inches).

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 200 to 700 pounds less than the Lexus RX.

The Range Rover Evoque is 1 foot, 8.4 inches shorter than the RX, making the Range Rover Evoque easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque amounts to more than styling. The Range Rover Evoque has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .33 Cd. That is lower than the RX (.35) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Range Rover Evoque get better fuel mileage.

The Range Rover Evoque has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the RX with its rear seat folded (50.5 vs. 46.2 cubic feet).

The Range Rover Evoque’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the RX’s (3968 vs. 0 pounds).

The Range Rover Evoque has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The RX doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the RX Premium/Luxury/500h F Sport, the Range Rover Evoque SE/HST has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position (with optional power wheel adjuster) and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Range Rover Evoque has a standard rear wiper. The RX doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the RX.
