Compare the2023 Jaguar XFVS 2023 Genesis G70

For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Jaguar XF have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Genesis G70 doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Both the XF and G70 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The XF has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The G70’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

Both the XF and the G70 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the XF for 2 years and 24,000 miles longer than Genesis pays for maintenance for the G70 (5/60,000 vs. 3/36,000).

The XF P250’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder produces 9 lbs.-ft. more torque (269 vs. 260) than the G70 2.0T’s standard 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

On the EPA test cycle the XF gets better mileage than the G70:

Regenerative brakes improve the XF’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The G70 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

Regardless of its engine, the XF’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. Genesis only offers an automatic engine start/stop system on the G70 2.0T.

The XF has 3.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the G70 (19.5 vs. 15.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Jaguar XF higher (7 out of 10) than the Genesis G70 (3). This means the XF produces up to 24.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the G70 every 15,000 miles.

For better stopping power the XF’s brake rotors are larger than those on the G70:

The XF’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the G70 2.0T are solid, not vented.

In an emergency stopping situation, many drivers don’t press the brakes with enough force to stop the vehicle in the shortest distance. The XF has standard Emergency Brake Assist to detect emergency braking situations (by how hard and how quickly the brake pedal is pressed) and then automatically apply maximum braking immediately in order to help prevent a collision. The G70 doesn’t offer a brake assist feature.

For better traction, the XF has larger standard tires than the G70 (245/45R18 vs. 225/40R19). The XF’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the G70 (255/35R20 vs. 225/40R19).

The XF’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the G70’s 40 series front tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the XF offers optional 20-inch wheels. The G70’s largest wheels are only 19-inches.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the XF’s wheelbase is 4.9 inches longer than on the G70 (116.5 inches vs. 111.6 inches).

The XF has .6 inches more front shoulder room, 1.3 inches more rear headroom, 2.9 inches more rear legroom and 1.8 inches more rear shoulder room than the G70.

With its sedan body style, locking rear seatbacks and remote trunk release lockout, the XF offers cargo security. The G70’s non-lockable folding seat and non-lockable remote release defeat cargo security.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the XF uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The G70 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the G70 3.3T/Sport Prestige, the XF SE/R-Dynamic has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position (with optional power wheel adjuster) and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

If the windows are left open on the XF the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the G70 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The XF’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The G70’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the XF to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The G70 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The XF SE/R-Dynamic offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The G70 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

A power rear sunshade is optional in the XF SE/R-Dynamic to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The G70 doesn’t offer a rear sunshade.

The XF R-Dynamic offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the G70.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar XF has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Only the G70 Advance/Sport Prestige offers wireless charging.

The XF S’ optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The G70 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
