Compare the2023 Jaguar I-PaceVS 2023 Kia EV6

For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Jaguar I-Pace have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Kia EV6 doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

The I-Pace’s standard pretensioning seatbelts also sense rear collisions and remove slack from the seatbelts to help protect the occupants from whiplash and other injuries. The EV6 doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the I-Pace. But it costs extra on the EV6.

Both the I-Pace and the EV6 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The I-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 1 year and unlimited miles longer than the EV6’s (6/unlimited vs. 5/100,000).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the I-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Kia doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the EV6.

The I-Pace’s electric motors produces 227 more horsepower (394 vs. 167) and 254 lbs.-ft. more torque (512 vs. 258) than the EV6 Light’s standard electric motor. The I-Pace’s electric motors produces 169 more horsepower (394 vs. 225) and 254 lbs.-ft. more torque (512 vs. 258) than the EV6 Wind/GT-Line’s standard electric motor. The I-Pace’s electric motors produces 74 more horsepower (394 vs. 320) and 66 lbs.-ft. more torque (512 vs. 446) than the EV6’s optional electric motors.

The I-Pace’s standard front and rear disc brakes are vented to help dissipate heat for shorter stops with less fading. The rear discs standard on the EV6 are solid, not vented.

The I-Pace stops much shorter than the EV6:

For better traction, the I-Pace has larger standard tires than the EV6 (245/50R20 vs. 235/45R20).

The I-Pace’s standard tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the EV6’s standard 55 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the I-Pace has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the EV6. The I-Pace’s optional 22-inch wheels are larger than the 21-inch wheels on the EV6 GT.

The I-Pace offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the EV6; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The front and rear suspension of the I-Pace uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the EV6, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The I-Pace has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The I-Pace’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The EV6 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the I-Pace’s wheelbase is 3.5 inches longer than on the EV6 (117.7 inches vs. 114.2 inches).

The I-Pace HSE handles at .90 G’s, while the EV6 Wind e-AWD pulls only .85 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

For greater off-road capability the I-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the EV6 (6.5 vs. 6.1 inches), allowing the I-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The I-Pace has .9 inches more front headroom and .1 inches more rear headroom than the EV6.

The I-Pace has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the EV6 with its rear seat up (25.3 vs. 24.4 cubic feet). The I-Pace has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the EV6 with its rear seat folded (53.6 vs. 50.2 cubic feet).

The I-Pace’s cargo area is larger than the EV6’s in almost every dimension:

A standard locking glovebox (which can’t be accessed with the valet key) keeps your small valuables safer in the I-Pace. The EV6 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

The I-Pace’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the EV6’s (1653 vs. 0 pounds).

The I-Pace’s front and rear power windows all open or close fully with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside the car. The EV6’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open or close them fully.

If the windows are left open on the I-Pace the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the EV6 can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the I-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The EV6 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The I-Pace offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The EV6 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The I-Pace’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The EV6 has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
