For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Jaguar I-Pace have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Both the I-Pace and Bolt EUV have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The I-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Bolt EUV’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The I-Pace has all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The I-Pace has a standard blind spot warning system which uses sensors to alert the driver to objects in the vehicle’s blind spots where the side view mirrors don’t reveal them and moves the vehicle back into its lane. A system to reveal vehicles in the Bolt EUV’s blind spot costs extra.

To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the I-Pace has a standard rear cross-path warning system, which uses sensors in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. Rear cross-path warning costs extra on the Bolt EUV.

The I-Pace’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the I-Pace and the Bolt EUV have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras and available around view monitors.

The Jaguar I-Pace weighs 1069 to 1104 pounds more than the Chevrolet Bolt EUV. The NHTSA advises that heavier vehicles are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

The I-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Bolt EUV’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

The I-Pace’s 6 year corrosion warranty has no mileage limitations, but the corrosion warranty on the Bolt EUV runs out after 100,000 miles.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the I-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Chevrolet only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Bolt EUV.

For better traction, the I-Pace has larger standard tires than the Bolt EUV (245/50R20 vs. 215/50R17). The I-Pace’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Bolt EUV (255/40R22 vs. 215/50R17).

The I-Pace’s optional tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Bolt EUV’s 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the I-Pace has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 17-inch wheels are available on the Bolt EUV. The I-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels.

The I-Pace offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Bolt EUV; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For superior ride and handling, the Jaguar I-Pace has fully independent front and rear suspensions. An independent suspension allows the wheels to follow the road at the best angle for gripping the pavement, without compromising ride comfort. The Chevrolet Bolt EUV has a rear torsion beam axle, with a semi-independent rear suspension.

The I-Pace has standard front and rear stabilizer bars, which help keep the I-Pace flat and controlled during cornering. The Bolt EUV’s suspension doesn’t offer a rear stabilizer bar.

The front and rear suspension of the I-Pace uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the Bolt EUV, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The I-Pace offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Bolt EUV’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The I-Pace has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The I-Pace’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the I-Pace’s wheelbase is 12.4 inches longer than on the Bolt EUV (117.7 inches vs. 105.3 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the I-Pace is 5.2 inches wider in the front and 5.9 inches wider in the rear than on the Bolt EUV.

The I-Pace HSE handles at .90 G’s, while the Bolt EUV Premier pulls only .79 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

The I-Pace HSE executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 3.5 seconds quicker than the Bolt EUV Premier (24.8 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 28.3 seconds @ .6 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the I-Pace has a greater minimum ground clearance than the Bolt EUV (6.5 vs. 5.6 inches), allowing the I-Pace to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The I-Pace has a much larger cargo volume than the Bolt EUV with its rear seat up (25.3 vs. 16.3 cubic feet).

When three different drivers share the I-Pace, the memory seats and mirrors make it convenient for all three. Each setting activates different, customized memories for the driver’s seat position and outside mirror angle. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer a memory system.

The I-Pace offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The I-Pace’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Bolt EUV’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The I-Pace’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Bolt EUV’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the I-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

Consumer Reports rated the I-Pace’s headlight performance “Good,” a higher rating than the Bolt EUV’s headlights, which were rated “Poor.”

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The I-Pace offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer headlight washers.

When the I-Pace is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The Bolt EUV’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

The I-Pace’s standard rear and side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The Bolt EUV offers an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The I-Pace’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.

Both the I-Pace and the Bolt EUV offer rear vents. For greater rear passenger comfort, the I-Pace has standard rear air conditioning vents to keep rear occupants cool in summer or warm in winter. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer rear air conditioning vents, only heat vents.

The I-Pace’s Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Bolt EUV doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
