The F-Type offers all-wheel drive to maximize traction under poor conditions, especially in ice and snow. The Corvette doesn’t offer all-wheel drive.

The F-Type’s lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. The Corvette doesn’t offer a lane departure warning system.

The F-Type has standard Parking Aid to help warn the driver about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or in front of their vehicle. The Corvette doesn’t offer a front parking aid.

The F-Type’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Corvette doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the F-Type and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

The F-Type comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

The F-Type’s 6 year corrosion warranty has no mileage limitations, but the corrosion warranty on the Corvette runs out after 100,000 miles.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Type for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Chevrolet only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corvette.

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the F-Type have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the F-Type’s reliability 17 points higher than the Corvette.

In heavy traffic or at stoplights the F-Type’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.

All wheel drive, available in the F-Type, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Chevrolet Corvette is not available with all wheel drive.

The F-Type’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (54.5% to 45.5%) than the Corvette’s (40% to 60%). This gives the F-Type more stable handling and braking.

The F-Type R Convertible handles at .98 G’s, while the Corvette Convertible pulls only .96 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The F-Type R Convertible executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Corvette Convertible (24 seconds @ .83 average G’s vs. 24.5 seconds @ .78 average G’s).

To make loading and unloading groceries and cargo easier, especially for short adults, the F-Type Coupe offers an optional power trunk, which opens and closes automatically by pressing a button. The Corvette doesn’t offer a power liftgate.

The F-Type’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the Corvette.

The F-Type’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Corvette’s manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F-Type has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Corvette doesn’t offer headlight washers.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the F-Type detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The Corvette doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the F-Type has standard cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The Corvette doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The F-Type’s optional Park Assist can parallel park by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
