To help make backing out of a parking space safer, the F-Type’s optional rear cross-path warning system uses sensors in the rear bumper to alert the driver to vehicles approaching from the side, helping the driver avoid collisions. The DB11 doesn’t offer a cross-path warning system.

The F-Type has standard SOS Emergency Call, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The DB11 doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the F-Type and the DB11 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rearview cameras and available blind spot warning systems.

The F-Type comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The DB11’s 3-year basic warranty expires 2 years sooner.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Type for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB11.

There are over 5 times as many Jaguar dealers as there are Aston Martin dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the F-Type’s warranty.

The F-Type R’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 47 more horsepower (575 vs. 528) and 3 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 513) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8.

All wheel drive, available in the F-Type, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. In corners, all wheel drive allows both outside wheels to provide power, balancing the car. This allows for better handling. The Aston Martin DB11 is not available with all wheel drive.

For better maneuverability, the F-Type’s turning circle is 3.5 feet tighter than the DB11’s (34.9 feet vs. 38.4 feet). The F-Type AWD’s turning circle is 1.4 feet tighter than the DB11’s (37 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

The Jaguar F-Type may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 200 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB11.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F-Type has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The DB11 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

While driving with high beams on, sensitive light sensors standard on the F-Type detect other vehicles which could be blinded and automatically switch to low beams. The DB11 doesn’t offer automatic dimming high beams.

The F-Type’s standard rear view mirror and optional side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The DB11 has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.
