Compare the2023 Jaguar F-PaceVS 2022 Mercedes GLC Coupe

Both the F-Pace and GLC Coupe have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The F-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The GLC Coupe’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the F-Pace’s standard All Surface Progress Control allows you to creep down safely. The GLC Coupe doesn’t offer All Surface Progress Control.

The F-Pace’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the GLC Coupe.

Both the F-Pace and the GLC Coupe have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The GLC Coupe’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

The F-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the GLC Coupe’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the GLC Coupe.

The F-Pace R-Dynamic S’ standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 140 more horsepower (395 vs. 255) and 133 lbs.-ft. more torque (406 vs. 273) than the GLC Coupe’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder. The F-Pace SVR’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 287 more horsepower (542 vs. 255) and 243 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 273) than the GLC Coupe’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

As tested in Motor Trend the F-Pace R-Dynamic S 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid is faster than the Mercedes GLC Coupe:

On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace P250 gets better fuel mileage than the GLC 300 Coupe (22 city/27 hwy vs. 21 city/27 hwy).

Regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The GLC Coupe doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The F-Pace has 4.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the GLC Coupe (21.9 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the F-Pace has larger standard tires than the GLC Coupe (255/55R19 vs. 235/55R19). The F-Pace SVR’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the GLC Coupe (F:265/45R21 & R:295/40R21 vs. F:255/45R20 & R:285/40R20).

The F-Pace SVR’s optional 265/40R22 front and 295/35R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 40 series front and 35 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the GLC Coupe’s optional 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels. The GLC Coupe’s largest wheels are only 20-inches.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the GLC Coupe; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare or run-flat tires, either of which has mileage and speed limitations.

The F-Pace offers an optional driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The GLC Coupe’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the F-Pace is .9 inches wider in the front and 1.5 inches wider in the rear than the track on the GLC Coupe.

The F-Pace SVR handles at .89 G’s, while the GLC 300 Coupe pulls only .79 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The F-Pace SVR executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.6 seconds quicker than the GLC 300 Coupe (25 seconds @ .77 average G’s vs. 27.6 seconds @ .63 average G’s).

The F-Pace uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The GLC Coupe doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the F-Pace has a standard rear wiper. The GLC Coupe doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The F-Pace (except Base) offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the GLC Coupe.
