Compare the2023 Jaguar F-PaceVS 2022 Mercedes AMG GLC

Both the F-Pace and AMG GLC have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The F-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The AMG GLC’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the F-Pace’s standard All Surface Progress Control allows you to creep down safely. The AMG GLC doesn’t offer All Surface Progress Control.

The F-Pace’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the AMG GLC.

Both the F-Pace and the AMG GLC have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The AMG GLC’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

The F-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the AMG GLC’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Mercedes doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the AMG GLC.

The F-Pace R-Dynamic S’ standard 3.0 turbo/supercharged 6-cylinder hybrid produces 10 more horsepower (395 vs. 385) and 22 lbs.-ft. more torque (406 vs. 384) than the AMG GLC’s 3.0 turbo V6. The F-Pace SVR’s standard 5.0 supercharged V8 produces 157 more horsepower (542 vs. 385) and 132 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 384) than the AMG GLC’s 3.0 turbo V6.

On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace gets better mileage than the AMG GLC:

Regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The AMG GLC doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The F-Pace has 4.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the AMG GLC (21.9 vs. 17.4 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better stopping power the F-Pace SVR’s brake rotors are larger than those on the AMG GLC:

For better traction, the F-Pace SVR’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the AMG GLC (F:265/45R21 & R:295/40R21 vs. F:255/45R20 & R:285/40R20).

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the F-Pace offers optional 22-inch wheels. The AMG GLC’s largest wheels are only 21-inches.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the AMG GLC; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare or run-flat tires, either of which has mileage and speed limitations.

The F-Pace’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the AMG GLC’s (54% to 46%). This gives the F-Pace more stable handling and braking.

The F-Pace uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The AMG GLC doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The F-Pace has 1.9 inches more front headroom and .4 inches more front shoulder room than the AMG GLC.

The F-Pace has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the AMG GLC with its rear seat up (32.1 vs. 17.6 cubic feet). The F-Pace has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the AMG GLC with its rear seat folded (70.4 vs. 56.5 cubic feet).

The F-Pace’s cargo area is larger than the AMG GLC’s in almost every dimension:

The F-Pace’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the AMG GLC’s (5291 vs. 3500 pounds).

A Trailer Stability Assist is standard on the F-Pace, using the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. A trailer sway program costs extra on the AMG GLC.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the F-Pace has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the AMG GLC only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The F-Pace (except Base) offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the AMG GLC.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Jaguar F-Pace has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the AMG GLC.
