Both the F-Pace and Grand Cherokee have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The F-Pace has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The Grand Cherokee’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the F-Pace. But it costs extra on the Grand Cherokee.

Both the F-Pace and the Grand Cherokee have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Grand Cherokee’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 2 years or 24,000 miles sooner.

The F-Pace’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the Grand Cherokee’s (6 vs. 5 years).

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 2 years longer than Jeep pays for maintenance for the Grand Cherokee (5 years vs. 3 years).

For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the engines in the F-Pace have an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of the 5.7 V8 in the Grand Cherokee.

Regardless of its engine, regenerative brakes improve the F-Pace’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. Jeep only offers a regenerative brake system on the Grand Cherokee 4xe.

Regardless of its engine, the F-Pace’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. If the conditions warrant or the driver wishes, the system can be manually disabled at any time for the duration of a trip. Jeep only offers an automatic engine start/stop system on the Grand Cherokee V6/4xe.

The F-Pace has 2.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the Grand Cherokee 4xe Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (21.9 vs. 19 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the F-Pace can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The Grand Cherokee doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

The Grand Cherokee’s standard rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to open or close them fully.

If the windows are left open on the F-Pace the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Grand Cherokee can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The F-Pace’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Grand Cherokee’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the F-Pace to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Grand Cherokee doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.
