The F-Pace’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the F-Pace and the RS Q8 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The F-Pace comes with a full 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The RS Q8’s 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 10,000 miles sooner.

Jaguar pays for scheduled maintenance on the F-Pace for 5 years and 60,000 miles. Jaguar will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Audi only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the RS Q8.

To reliably start during all conditions and help handle large electrical loads, the F-Pace has a standard 800-amp battery. The RS Q8’s 380-amp battery isn’t as powerful.

The battery on the F-Pace is in the trunk, which protects it from hot underhood temperatures that can degrade battery life. By keeping the F-Pace’s battery 20 to 30 degrees cooler, its life is increased by years. The RS Q8’s battery is in the hot engine compartment.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jaguar vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. With 29 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Jaguar higher than Audi.

On the EPA test cycle the F-Pace gets better mileage than the RS Q8:

Having a flat tire is dangerous, inconvenient and expensive. The self-sealing tires available on the F-Pace can automatically seal most punctures up to 3/16 of an inch, effectively preventing most flat tires. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer self-sealing tires.

The F-Pace offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the RS Q8; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

For better maneuverability, the F-Pace’s turning circle is 4.3 feet tighter than the RS Q8’s (39.2 feet vs. 43.5 feet).

The Jaguar F-Pace may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 950 to 1500 pounds less than the Audi RS Q8.

The F-Pace is 10.4 inches shorter than the RS Q8, making the F-Pace easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The F-Pace uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The F-Pace has 2.6 inches more front headroom and .4 inches more rear headroom than the RS Q8.

The F-Pace has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the RS Q8 with its rear seat up (32.1 vs. 30.5 cubic feet). The F-Pace has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the RS Q8 with its rear seat folded (70.4 vs. 60.7 cubic feet).

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the F-Pace easier. The F-Pace’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 30.5 inches, while the RS Q8’s liftover is 33.7 inches.

Pulling a handle automatically lowers the F-Pace S/R-Dynamic/SVR’s optional rear seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer automatic folding seats.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist on the F-Pace uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The RS Q8 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the RS Q8, the F-Pace (except Base) offers an optional driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the F-Pace has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the RS Q8 only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

Insurance will cost less for the F-Pace owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the F-Pace will cost $460 to $5725 less than the RS Q8 over a five-year period.

IntelliChoice estimates that five-year ownership costs (depreciation, financing, insurance, fuel, fees, repairs and maintenance) for the Jaguar F-Pace will be $27728 to $63011 less than for the Audi RS Q8.
