The Dodge Durango SRT has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Levante doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the Durango SRT and the Levante have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available crash mitigating brakes and lane departure warning systems.

Dodge’s powertrain warranty covers the Durango SRT 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Maserati covers the Levante. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Levante ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

The Durango SRT’s corrosion warranty is 1 year and unlimited miles longer than the Levante’s (5/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).

There are almost 21 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Durango SRT’s warranty.

The Dodge Durango SRT’s engine uses a cast iron block for durability, while the Levante’s engines use an aluminum block. Aluminum engine blocks are much more prone to warp and crack at high temperatures than cast iron.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Dodge vehicles are better in initial quality than Maserati vehicles. J.D. The Durango SRT’s 6.4 V8 produces 130 more horsepower (475 vs. 345) and 101 lbs.-ft. more torque (470 vs. 369) than the Levante GT’s standard 3.0 turbo V6. The Durango SRT’s 6.4 V8 produces 51 more horsepower (475 vs. 424) and 42 lbs.-ft. more torque (470 vs. 428) than the Levante Modena’s standard 3.0 turbo V6.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Durango SRT’s fuel efficiency. The Levante doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Durango SRT has 3.5 gallons more fuel capacity than the Levante (24.6 vs. 21.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the Durango SRT can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Levante doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Durango SRT’s wheelbase is 1.5 inches longer than on the Levante (119.8 inches vs. 118.3 inches).
