Both the ProMaster Cargo Van and the E-Transit have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Ram vehicles are more reliable than Ford vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Ram 15 places higher in reliability than Ford.

Standard Trailer Sway Control on the ProMaster Cargo Van uses the Electronic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The E-Transit doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

The ProMaster 3500 Ext. LWB has a much higher standard payload capacity than the E-Transit T350 Extended (4330 vs. 3330 lbs.).

Insurance will cost less for the ProMaster Cargo Van owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the ProMaster Cargo Van will cost $135 to $2395 less than the E-Transit over a five-year period.

The ProMaster Cargo Van will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the ProMaster Cargo Van will retain 51.31% to 52.38% of its original price after five years, while the E-Transit only retains 45.31% to 46.3%.
