Compare the2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse CrossVS 2023 Lexus UX

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Eclipse Cross. But it costs extra on the UX.

The Eclipse Cross SEL has a standard Multi-View Camera to allow the driver to see objects all around the vehicle on a screen. The UX only offers a rear monitor and front and rear parking sensors that beep or flash a light. That doesn’t help with obstacles to the sides.

Both the Eclipse Cross and the UX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available blind spot warning systems and rear cross-path warning.

Mitsubishi’s powertrain warranty covers the Eclipse Cross 4 years and 30,000 miles longer than Lexus covers the UX. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. Coverage on the UX ends after only 6 years or 70,000 miles.

The Eclipse Cross’ corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the UX’s (7 vs. 6 years).

There are over 32 percent more Mitsubishi dealers than there are Lexus dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Eclipse Cross’ warranty.

The Eclipse Cross has 5.2 gallons more fuel capacity than the UX (15.8 vs. 10.6 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Eclipse Cross stops shorter than the UX:

The Eclipse Cross has a standard space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the UX; it requires you to depend on its run-flat tires, which limits mileage and speed before they are repaired. If a run-flat is damaged beyond repair by a road hazard your vehicle will have to be towed.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Eclipse Cross’ wheelbase is 1.2 inches longer than on the UX (105.1 inches vs. 103.9 inches).

The Eclipse Cross has 6.3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the UX (96.7 vs. 90.4).

The Eclipse Cross has 2.2 inches more front headroom, 1.1 inches more front shoulder room, 1 inch more rear headroom, 4 inches more rear legroom and 2.2 inches more rear shoulder room than the UX.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Eclipse Cross’ rear seats recline. The UX’s rear seats don’t recline.
