The Roma has standard GPS Response System, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Aventador doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Roma and the Aventador have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability systems to prevent skidding.

Warranty

Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Roma for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Lamborghini doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Aventador.

Reliability

The Aventador’s redline is at 8500 RPM, which causes more engine wear, and a greater chance of a catastrophic engine failure. The Roma has a 7500 RPM redline.

Engine

The Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 30 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 531) than the Aventador SVJ’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12. The Roma’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 30 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 531) than the Aventador Ultimae’s standard 6.5 DOHC V12.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Roma gets better fuel mileage than the Aventador SVJ Coupe with its standard engine (17 city/22 hwy vs. 9 city/16 hwy).

Environmental Friendliness

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari Roma higher (6 out of 10) than the Lamborghini Aventador (1). This means the Roma produces up to 45.9 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Aventador every 15,000 miles.

Transmission

An eight-speed automatic (SMG) is standard on the Ferrari Roma, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a seven-speed automatic is available for the Aventador.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the Roma’s turning circle is 5.6 feet tighter than the Aventador’s (35.4 feet vs. 41 feet).

Chassis

The Roma is 8.4 inches shorter than the Aventador Ultimae, making the Roma easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

Passenger Space

The Roma has standard seating for 4 passengers; the Aventador can only carry 2.

The Roma has 30 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Aventador (80 vs. 50).

Cargo Capacity

The Roma has a much larger trunk with its rear seat up than the Aventador (9.6 vs. 5.2 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

The Roma’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Aventador doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
