The Portofino has standard parking sensors to help warn the driver about vehicles, pedestrians or other obstacles behind or in front of their vehicle. The Corvette doesn’t offer a front parking aid.
Both the Portofino and the Corvette have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding and rear parking sensors.
The Portofino comes with a full 3-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Corvette’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires sooner.
The Portofino’s corrosion warranty is unlimited miles longer than the Corvette’s (unlimited vs. 100,000 miles).
Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Portofino for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Chevrolet only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corvette.
For smoother operation, better efficiency and fewer moving parts, the Portofino has an overhead cam design, rather than the old pushrod design of some of the engines in the Corvette.
The Portofino’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 122 more horsepower (612 vs. 490) and 96 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 465) than the Corvette’s standard 6.2 V8. The Portofino’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 117 more horsepower (612 vs. 495) and 91 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 470) than the Corvette Z51’s standard 6.2 V8. The Portofino’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 101 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 460) than the Corvette Z06’s standard 5.5 DOHC V8.
In heavy traffic or at stoplights the Portofino’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The Corvette doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.
The Portofino has 2.6 gallons more fuel capacity than the Corvette (21.1 vs. 18.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Portofino’s brakes have 30% more swept area (the area covered by the brake pads) than the Corvette (835 vs. 640 square inches), so the Portofino has more braking power available.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Portofino has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch front wheels are standard on the Corvette.
The Portofino’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (46% to 54%) than the Corvette’s (40% to 60%). This gives the Portofino more stable handling and braking.
The Portofino has standard seating for 4 passengers; the Corvette can only carry 2.
The Portofino has 24 cubic feet more passenger volume than the Corvette (75 vs. 51).
To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Portofino offers optional adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The Corvette doesn’t offer cornering lights.
