Safety
Warranty
Ferrari pays for scheduled maintenance on the Portofino for 7 years and unlimited miles. Ferrari will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Aston Martin doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the DB11.
Engine
The Portofino’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 84 more horsepower (612 vs. 528) and 48 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 513) than the DB11 V8’s standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Portofino’s 3.9 turbo V8 produces 45 lbs.-ft. more torque (561 vs. 516) than the DB11 V12’s standard 5.2 turbo V12.
Transmission
The Portofino offers a standard sequential manual gearbox (SMG). With no clutch pedal to worry about and a fully automatic mode, an SMG is much more efficient than a conventional automatic but just as easy to drive. The DB11 doesn’t offer an SMG or a conventional manual transmission.
Brakes and Stopping
The Portofino has standard heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The DB11 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.
Tires and Wheels
The Portofino’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the DB11’s standard 40 series front tires.
Chassis
The Ferrari Portofino may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 200 to 450 pounds less than the Aston Martin DB11.
The Portofino is 6.1 inches shorter than the DB11, making the Portofino easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The Portofino’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The DB11 doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.
Passenger Space
The Portofino has 3 cubic feet more passenger volume than the DB11 (75 vs. 72).
Cargo Capacity
The Portofino has a larger trunk with its top up than the DB11 Volante with its top up (10.3 vs. 9.9 cubic feet).
A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Portofino. The DB11 doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.
