The F8 has standard four wheel antilock disc brakes for quicker stops and controlled steering ability, especially under poor traction conditions. Antilock brakes cost extra on the Bugatti Chiron.
Both the F8 and the Chiron have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights, rear parking sensors and available rearview cameras.
In heavy traffic or at stoplights the F8’s engine automatically turns off when the vehicle is stopped, saving fuel and reducing pollution. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver gets ready to move again. The Chiron doesn’t offer an automatic engine start/stop system.
In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Ferrari F8 higher (3 out of 10) than the Bugatti Chiron (1). This means the F8 produces up to 22.5 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Chiron every 15,000 miles.
The F8 offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the Chiron; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.
For better maneuverability, the F8’s turning circle is 11.1 feet tighter than the Chiron’s (38.7 feet vs. 49.8 feet).
The Ferrari F8 may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1050 to 1200 pounds less than the Bugatti Chiron.
The F8’s standard power retractable hardtop allows a seamless transition from an open car, to a completely sealed coupe. The Chiron doesn’t offer a retractable hardtop.
The F8’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Chiron’s
In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The F8 has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Chiron doesn’t offer headlight washers.
The F8’s standard dual zone air conditioning allows the driver and front passenger to choose two completely different temperatures so people with different temperature preferences won’t have to compromise. This makes both the driver and front passenger as comfortable as possible. The Chiron doesn’t offer dual zone air conditioning.
The Ferrari F8 comes in coupe and convertible bodystyles; the Bugatti Chiron isn’t available as a convertible.
The F8 was chosen as one of Automobile Magazine’s “All Stars” in 2016. The Chiron has never been an “All Star.”
