For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Toyota GR Corolla are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Cadillac CT4-V doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The GR Corolla has a standard Secondary Collision Brake, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The CT4-V doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the GR Corolla. But it costs extra on the CT4-V.

The GR Corolla’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The CT4-V doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the GR Corolla and the CT4-V have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras and rear cross-path warning.

Toyota pays for scheduled maintenance on the GR Corolla for 2 years and 25000 miles. Toyota will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Cadillac only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the CT4-V.

There are over 2 times as many Toyota dealers as there are Cadillac dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the GR Corolla’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Toyota above average in long-term dependability. With 34 more problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, Cadillac is rated lower.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Toyota vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Toyota second in overall reliability. Cadillac is ranked 21st.

For better handling and stability, the average track (width between the wheels) on the GR Corolla is 2.2 inches wider in the front and 2.1 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the CT4-V.

The GR Corolla Circuit Edition handles at .96 G’s, while the CT4-V AWD pulls only .87 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The GR Corolla Circuit Edition executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the CT4-V (24.9 seconds @ .74 average G’s vs. 25.4 seconds @ .73 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the GR Corolla’s turning circle is 1 foot tighter than the CT4-V’s (36.1 feet vs. 37.1 feet). The GR Corolla’s turning circle is 2.7 feet tighter than the CT4-V Blackwing’s (36.1 feet vs. 38.8 feet).

The Toyota GR Corolla may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 450 to 600 pounds less than the Cadillac CT4-V.

The GR Corolla is 1 foot, 1.6 inches shorter than the CT4-V, making the GR Corolla easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The GR Corolla has .1 inches more front headroom, .9 inches more front hip room, 1.1 inches more rear headroom and .6 inches more rear shoulder room than the CT4-V.

The GR Corolla’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The CT4-V’s rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

If the windows are left open on the GR Corolla the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows at the outside door handle or from a distance using the keyless remote. (This window function must be activated by your Toyota service department.) The driver of the CT4-V can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The GR Corolla has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. The CT4-V doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the GR Corolla (except MORIZO Edition) has a standard rear wiper. The CT4-V doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
