Both the Q4 e-tron and EQB have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The Q4 e-tron has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The EQB’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The Q4 e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The EQB doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The Q4 e-tron’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the EQB.

Both the Q4 e-tron and the EQB have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

For its top level performance in IIHS driver and passenger-side small overlap frontal, moderate overlap frontal, side impact, roof strength and head restraint tests, its standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system, its standard vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention system, and its standard headlight’s “Good” rating, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety grants the Q4 e-tron its highest rating: “Top Safety Pick Plus” for 2022, a rating granted to only 101 vehicles tested by the IIHS. The EQB has not been tested, yet.

The Q4 e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 7 years longer than the EQB’s (12 vs. 5 years).

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Mercedes vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Audi 6 places higher in reliability than Mercedes.

The Q4 50 e-tron’s standard electric motors produces 70 more horsepower (295 vs. 225) and 51 lbs.-ft. more torque (339 vs. 288) than the EQB 300’s standard electric motor.

The Q4 e-tron can travel longer on a full charge than the EQB on a full charge:

For better traction and acceleration, the Q4 e-tron has larger rear tires than the EQB (255/50R19 vs. 235/50R19).

The Q4 e-tron’s standard 255/50R19 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 50 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the EQB 300’s 55 series tires. The Q4 e-tron Quattro’s optional 255/45R20 rear tires have a lower 45 series profile than the EQB’s optional 50 series tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Q4 e-tron has standard 19-inch wheels. Smaller 18-inch wheels are standard on the EQB 300. The Q4 e-tron Quattro’s optional 20-inch wheels are larger than the 19-inch wheels optional on the EQB.

The Q4 e-tron has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The EQB’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

For better maneuverability, the Q4 e-tron 40’s turning circle is 4.9 feet tighter than the EQB’s (33.5 feet vs. 38.4 feet). The Q4 e-tron 50’s turning circle is .7 feet tighter than the EQB’s (37.7 feet vs. 38.4 feet).

The Q4 e-tron is 3.7 inches shorter than the EQB, making the Q4 e-tron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q4 e-tron has .1 inches more front legroom, .8 inches more front shoulder room and .2 inches more rear shoulder room than the EQB.

The Q4 e-tron has a much larger cargo volume than the EQB with its rear seat up (24.8 vs. 5.1 cubic feet).

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Audi service is better than Mercedes. J.D. Power ranks Audi 8th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With a 16% lower rating, Mercedes is ranked 18th.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Q4 e-tron Prestige has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The EQB doesn’t offer headlight washers.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Q4 e-tron has standard extendable sun visors. The EQB doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Q4 e-tron is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The EQB doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
