The Q4 e-tron’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The I-Pace doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Audi Q4 e-tron are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar I-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Q4 e-tron has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Both the Q4 e-tron and the I-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

For its top level performance in IIHS driver and passenger-side small overlap frontal, moderate overlap frontal, side impact, roof strength and head restraint tests, its standard vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system, its standard vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention system, and its standard headlight’s “Good” rating, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety grants the Q4 e-tron its highest rating: “Top Safety Pick Plus” for 2022, a rating granted to only 101 vehicles tested by the IIHS. The I-Pace has not been tested, yet.

The Q4 e-tron’s corrosion warranty is 6 years longer than the I-Pace’s (12 vs. 6 years).

There are over 60 percent more Audi dealers than there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Q4 e-tron’s warranty.

Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Audi vehicles are more reliable than Jaguar With 1 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Audi higher than Jaguar.

For better maneuverability, the Q4 e-tron 40’s turning circle is 7 feet tighter than the I-Pace’s (33.5 feet vs. 40.5 feet). The Q4 e-tron 50’s turning circle is 2.8 feet tighter than the I-Pace’s (37.7 feet vs. 40.5 feet).

The Q4 e-tron is 3.6 inches shorter than the I-Pace, making the Q4 e-tron easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Q4 e-tron has .3 inches more front legroom, .2 inches more rear headroom, 2.2 inches more rear legroom and .5 inches more rear shoulder room than the I-Pace.

The Q4 e-tron’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the I-Pace’s (2205 vs. 1653 pounds). Maximum trailer towing in the Jaguar I-Pace is only 1653 pounds. The Q4 e-tron offers up to a 2646 lbs. towing capacity.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Audi service is better than Jaguar. J.D. Power ranks Audi 8th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With a 7% lower rating, Jaguar is ranked 10th.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Q4 e-tron has a standard rear wiper. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Q4 e-tron is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The I-Pace doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.

Insurance will cost less for the Q4 e-tron owner. The Complete Car Cost Guide estimates that insurance for the Q4 e-tron will cost $2630 to $4030 less than the I-Pace over a five-year period.

The Q4 e-tron will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the Q4 e-tron will retain 44.62% to 46.17% of its original price after five years, while the I-Pace only retains 42.74%.

IntelliChoice estimates that five-year ownership costs (depreciation, financing, insurance, fuel, fees, repairs and maintenance) for the Audi Q4 e-tron will be $16557 to $27012 less than for the Jaguar I-Pace.

The Audi Q4 e-tron outsold the Jaguar I-Pace by 12 units during the 2022 model year.
