On the EPA test cycle the AMG C 43 Coupe gets better fuel mileage than the LC 500 Coupe (19 city/28 hwy vs. 16 city/25 hwy).

All wheel drive, available in the AMG C-Class Coupe, provides the best traction for acceleration in wet, dry, and icy conditions. To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the AMG C-Class Coupe 63 S has an electronically controlled liquid-filled front engine mount. A computer-controlled electric current in the liquid changes its viscosity, allowing the mount to dampen the engine completely at all RPMs. The LC uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.

The design of the Mercedes AMG C-Class Coupe amounts to more than styling. The AMG C-Class Coupe has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .3 Cd. That is lower than the LC (.33 to .34). The AMG C-Class Coupe’s optional adaptive cornering lights turn the actual headlight unit up to several degrees, depending on steering wheel angle and vehicle speed. To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the AMG C-Class Coupe has standard extendable sun visors. The LC doesn’t offer extendable visors.

When the AMG C-Class Coupe is put in reverse, the passenger rearview mirror tilts from its original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirror into its original position. The LC’s mirror doesn’t automatically adjust for backing.

For greater rear passenger comfort, the AMG C-Class Coupe has standard rear a/c vents to keep rear occupants more comfortable. The LC doesn’t offer rear vents.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Mercedes AMG C-Class offers an optional wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. The LC doesn’t offer wireless personal charging.

The AMG C-Class Coupe’s optional Active Parking Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The LC doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Mercedes AMG C-Class comes in coupe, convertible and sedan bodystyles; the Lexus LC isn’t available as a sedan.

The AMG C-Class Coupe will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the AMG C-Class Coupe will retain 48.02% to 53.14% of its original price after five years, while the LC only retains 43.54% to 44.97%.

IntelliChoice estimates that five-year ownership costs (depreciation, financing, insurance, fuel, fees, repairs and maintenance) for the Mercedes AMG C-Class Coupe will be $11823 to $24449 less than for the Lexus LC.

The Mercedes C-Class outsold the Lexus LC by almost 12 to one during the 2021 model year.
