Safety
Warranty
Dodge’s powertrain warranty covers the Charger SRT 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Maserati covers the Ghibli. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Ghibli ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.
The Charger SRT’s corrosion warranty is 1 year and unlimited miles longer than the Ghibli’s (5/unlimited vs. 4/50,000).
There are almost 21 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Maserati dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Charger SRT’s warranty.
Reliability
The Dodge Charger SRT’s engines use a cast iron block for durability, while the Ghibli’s engines use an aluminum block. Aluminum engine blocks are much more prone to warp and crack at high temperatures than cast iron.
J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Dodge vehicles are better in initial quality than Maserati vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Dodge second in initial quality, above the industry average. With 112 more problems per 100 vehicles, Maserati is ranked 32nd, below the industry average.

Tires and Wheels
For better traction, the Charger SRT has larger tires than the Ghibli (305/35R20 vs. 245/45R19). The Charger SRT’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Ghibli (305/35R20 vs. 245/40R20).
The Charger SRT’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Ghibli’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.
For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Charger SRT has standard 20-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch wheels are standard on the Ghibli.
Suspension and Handling
For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Charger SRT’s wheelbase is 2 inches longer than on the Ghibli (120 inches vs. 118 inches).
For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Charger SRT is 1.2 inches wider in the front and .2 inches wider in the rear than on the Ghibli.
The Charger SRT Hellcat handles at .94 G’s, while the Ghibli Modena Q4 pulls only .91 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.
The Charger SRT Hellcat executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.1 seconds quicker than the Ghibli Modena Q4 (24.4 seconds @ .82 average G’s vs. 25.5 seconds @ .8 average G’s).
Chassis
To almost totally eliminate engine vibration in the passenger area, the Charger SRT has liquid-filled engine mounts. The liquid helps further dampen engine harshness. The Ghibli uses conventional solid rubber engine mounts.
Passenger Space
The Charger SRT has 4.1 inches more front legroom, 1.7 inches more front shoulder room, 6.9 inches more rear legroom and 1.4 inches more rear shoulder room than the Ghibli.
Ergonomics
Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Charger SRT to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the Ghibli.
The Charger SRT’s LED headlights produce a white, bright light using less electricity than the Ghibli’s standard xenon high intensity discharge (HID) headlights. HID headlights can be slow to reach full brightness or power cycle, causing issues when flashing them to signal other vehicles; LED headlights light instantly. LED lights also last about three to four times as long.
To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Charger SRT has standard extendable sun visors. The Ghibli doesn’t offer extendable visors.
