Compare the2023 Honda CR-V HybridVS 2022 Lincoln Corsair

In the past twenty years hundreds of infants and young children have died after being left in vehicles, usually by accident. When turning the vehicle off, drivers of the CR-V Hybrid are reminded to check the back seat if they opened the rear door before starting out. The Corsair doesn’t offer a back seat reminder.

Using vehicle speed sensors and seat sensors, smart airbags in the CR-V Hybrid deploy with different levels of force or don’t deploy at all to help better protect passengers of all sizes in different collisions. The CR-V Hybrid’s side airbags will shut off if a child is leaning against the door. The Corsair’s side airbags don’t have smart features and will always deploy full force.

When descending a steep, off-road slope, the CR-V Hybrid’s standard Hill Descent Control allows you to creep down safely. The Corsair doesn’t offer Hill Descent Control.

Both the CR-V Hybrid and the Corsair have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front wheel drive, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, available all wheel drive and rear parking sensors.

Honda pays for scheduled maintenance on the CR-V Hybrid for 2 years and 24,000 miles. Honda will pay for oil changes, lubrication and any other required maintenance. Lincoln only pays for the first scheduled maintenance visit on the Corsair.

There are over 55 percent more Honda dealers than there are Lincoln dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the CR-V Hybrid’s warranty.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2021 Auto Issue reports that Honda vehicles are more reliable than Lincoln vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Honda 21 places higher in reliability than Lincoln.

On the EPA test cycle the CR-V Hybrid gets better mileage than the Corsair running its gasoline engine:

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Honda CR-V Hybrid uses regular unleaded gasoline. The Corsair with the 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder engine requires premium for maximum efficiency, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon.

The CR-V Hybrid has 2.9 gallons more fuel capacity than the Corsair Grand Touring Hybrid’s standard fuel tank (14 vs. 11.1 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Honda CR-V Hybrid higher (7 out of 10) than the Lincoln Corsair (5). This means the CR-V Hybrid produces up to 8 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the Corsair every 15,000 miles.

For better stopping power the CR-V Hybrid’s brake rotors are larger than those on the Corsair:

For better traction, the CR-V Hybrid has larger tires than the Corsair (235/60R18 vs. 225/60R18).

The CR-V Hybrid has .8 inches more front shoulder room and 1.8 inches more rear legroom than the Corsair.

The CR-V Hybrid has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Corsair with its rear seat up (39.3 vs. 27.6 cubic feet). The CR-V Hybrid has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Corsair with its rear seat folded (76.5 vs. 57.6 cubic feet).

The CR-V Hybrid has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. The Corsair doesn’t offer a locking fuel/charge port door.

The CR-V was chosen as one of Car and Driver’s “Top Five/10Best Trucks” for 3 of the last 21 years. The Corsair has never been a Car and Driver “Top Five/10Best Truck” pick.

Motor Trend selected the CR-V as their 2018 Sport Utility of the Year. The Corsair has never been chosen.

The Honda CR-V outsold the Lincoln Corsair by over 15 to one during the 2021 model year.
