Compare the2023 Audi e-tron GTVS 2022 Genesis G90

Both the e-tron GT and G90 have child safety locks to prevent children from opening the rear doors. The e-tron GT has power child safety locks, allowing the driver to activate and deactivate them from the driver's seat and to know when they're engaged. The G90’s child locks have to be individually engaged at each rear door with a manual switch. The driver can’t know the status of the locks without opening the doors and checking them.

The e-tron GT has a standard Secondary Collision Brake Assist, which automatically applies the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The G90 doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the e-tron GT. But it costs extra on the G90.

Both the e-tron GT and the G90 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front and rear side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

The e-tron GT’s corrosion warranty is 5 years longer than the G90’s (12 vs. 7 years).

The e-tron GT’s standard electric motors produces 157 more horsepower (522 vs. 365) and 96 lbs.-ft. more torque (472 vs. 376) than the G90 3.3T’s standard 3.3 turbo V6. The e-tron GT’s electric motors produces 102 more horsepower (522 vs. 420) and 89 lbs.-ft. more torque (472 vs. 383) than the G90 5.0’s standard 5.0 DOHC V8. The RS e-tron GT’s standard electric motors produces 217 more horsepower (637 vs. 420) and 229 lbs.-ft. more torque (612 vs. 383) than the G90 5.0’s standard 5.0 DOHC V8.

The e-tron GT can travel with zero emissions for 232 to 238 miles (dependent on model). The G90 can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

Regenerative brakes improve the e-tron GT’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The G90 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

The e-tron GT, as a pure battery electric vehicle, has no need to “idle” its motors in traffic: they only burn power when moving. The e-tron GT’s climate control systems still work completely when the vehicle is stopped. The G90 still runs its internal combustion engine whenever it’s stopped, burning excess fuel.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Audi e-tron GT higher (10 out of 10) than the Genesis G90 (3 to 5). This means the e-tron GT produces up to 36.3 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the G90 every 15,000 miles.

The e-tron GT’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The G90 doesn’t offer launch control.

For better stopping power the RS e-tron GT’s brake rotors are larger than those on the G90:

The e-tron GT RS offers optional heat-treated ceramic brake rotors, which last ten to twenty times as long as conventional cast iron rotors, don’t rust, don’t fade during repeated high speed braking, and their lighter weight contribute to better braking, handling and acceleration. The G90 doesn’t offer ceramic brake rotors.

The e-tron GT stops much shorter than the G90:

For better traction, the e-tron GT Prestige/RS’ optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the G90 (F:265/35R21 & R:305/30R21 vs. F:245/45R19 & R:275/40R19).

The e-tron GT Prestige/RS’ optional 265/35R21 front and 305/30R21 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the G90’s 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the e-tron GT has standard 20-inch wheels. Only 19-inch wheels are available on the G90. The e-tron GT Prestige/RS offers optional 21-inch wheels.

The front and rear suspension of the e-tron GT uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the G90, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The e-tron GT has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The e-tron GT’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The G90 doesn’t offer a load leveling suspension.

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the e-tron GT is 2.4 inches wider in the front and 1.1 inches wider in the rear than on the G90.

The RS e-tron GT handles at .95 G’s, while the G90 3.3T AWD pulls only .83 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The RS e-tron GT executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 2.8 seconds quicker than the G90 3.3T AWD (24.1 seconds @ .85 average G’s vs. 26.9 seconds @ .67 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the e-tron GT’s turning circle is 1.1 feet tighter than the G90’s (38.1 feet vs. 39.2 feet).

The e-tron GT is 8.5 inches shorter than the G90, making the e-tron GT easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Audi e-tron GT amounts to more than styling. The e-tron GT has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .24 Cd. That is lower than the G90 (.27) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the e-tron GT get better fuel mileage.

The e-tron GT’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The G90 doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Audi service is better than Genesis. J.D. Power ranks Audi 8th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With a 29% lower rating, Genesis is ranked 23rd.

If the windows are left open on the e-tron GT the driver can close them all at the outside door handle or from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the G90 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The e-tron GT offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the G90.

The e-tron GT Prestige/RS’ Park Assist Plus can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. Remote Park Assist will park and retrieve your car remotely: press a button and watch it park itself. This is ideal for tight locations. The G90 doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The e-tron GT will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the e-tron GT will retain 42.28% to 42.99% of its original price after five years, while the G90 only retains 35.84% to 36.39%.

The Audi e-tron outsold the Genesis G90 by almost six to one during the 2021 model year.
